Awards Center receives calls quite often from people asking if we're able to recycle trophies. The trophy owners are unable to keep their hard earned awards but don't want to throw them away. This is a great illustration of the emotional attachment that people have to the awards they've received. Unfortunately, due to the nature of our business, we're unable to recycle trophies that have been previously presented. The labor costs related to disassembling the trophies, cleaning them, the inability to match parts when a multiple piece order is placed and the inability to color match parts are but a few reasons for this.
There are quite a few organizations in and around Louisville, who may welcome the opportunity to have donated awards that they can clean and have new engraving plate attached. We suggest checking the your local YMCA, Boys and Girls Clubs, Churches and other such organizations to see if they have a need for trophies.
